Books carry the infinite wisdom of human beings.From ancient times to the present,all kinds of important experiences are concentrated in one book.With the rapid development of the times,the materials,technology and design thinking of design books are developing.New technology,new materials and avant-garde design thinking are used in book design to explore the new development of book design and give books new social value.In the book design,materials,design,technology and so on are important components,in which materials as the carrier of design and technology and other elements play an indispensable role.The premise of excellent design is that the design of materials and the design of technology are far from each other.Therefore,designers must study the material characteristics and other aspects closely related to book design.On the other hand,materials are also a unique way to express the designer's design thinking.Designers can use the characteristics of human cognitive behavior,the unique touch and visual stimulation of materials to create excellent and interesting design works.With the continuous development of society,materials and technology are also changing.We should select and demonstrate the materials of book design in time,so as to adapt to the requirements and changes of society and readers.This paper takes the selection of book design materials as the main clue,takes the concept and classification of materials in book design as the breakthrough point,analyzes the necessity of materials in books through the expressive force of book design materials,and then carries out the research and Analysis on the application of book design materials,so as to provide new ideas and new ways for the development of book design.
