Since the 1970 s,the parent-child system which is an important subsystem of the family,has been concerned by scholars.With the study of the family system,more and more scholars are studying the mother-child subsystem.Mother is the main caregivers of their children’s growth progress.She is important to their family and children.In fact,the children’s mental health are linked to the mother’s emotional stability.Therefore,in this passage,we would like to carry out a extensive research on neurotic and parent-child relationship.We want to know the potential effect of emotion regulation strategies and parent-child communication on neurotic personality and parent-child relationship.This paper will pay great value to increase psychological health status of teenager.The mothers filled out the Big Five Personality Scale and The Emotional Regulation Strategy Questionnaire.The teenager finished the Parent-child Communication Scale and the Parent-child Intimacy Scale.We surveyed 382 pairs of junior high school students and their mothers who came from Shandong,Shanxi,Liaoning,Tianjin and other provinces by convenient sampling method,and 366 valid questionnaires were obtained.Results :(1)Compared with Grade 8 and Grade 9,there are significant differences in the level of problem communication.There are significant differences in problem communication level between Grade 7 and Grade 9.(2)Neurotic personality is going to be negative correlation with cognitive reappraisal,open communication and parent-child relationship.And it’s positive correlation with problem communication;Expression inhibition is going to be positive correlation with open and problem communication.(3)Between mother’s neurotic personality and parent-child relationship,cognitive reappraisal and parent-child communication is going to play a chain mediator role in it.Conclusion :(1)There are significant differences in the dimensions of problem communication among junior high school students of different grades,among which the ninth grade students have the most problem communication;(2)Mother’s neurotic personality has a negative predictive effect on parent-child relationship;(3)Neurotic personality acts on the parent-child relationship through cognitive reassessment strategies and open communication.That is good stability of mother’s emotions,the more frequently of cognitive reassessment strategies were used.Using the open communication,it takes well relationship.(4)Neurotic personality affects the parent-child relationship through cognitive reassessment strategies and problematic communication.That is good stability of mother’s emotions,the more frequently of cognitive reassessment strategies were used.Problematic communication with children was used less.The parent-child relationship between them is also good.
