The period of the Republic of China is the peak period of the adaptation and creation of Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber.During this period,not only many Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber works appeared,but also some classic works were spread over the world.This paper takes Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber in the period of the Republic of China as the research object,trying to explore the repertoire from multiple angles and dimensions.This paper first combs the names of the Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber in this period,investigates the preservation of the script,and corrects the omissions and errors of the predecessors.Then it compares it with the novel Dream of the Red Chamber,and investigates its acceptance and interpretation of the original work.At the same time,it studies the editing and acting of the Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber in this period,and discusses it from the perspective of drama aesthetics and drama improvement.This paper mainly studies five kinds of Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber by Ouyang Yuqian,four kinds by Qi Rushan and Mei Lanfang,three kinds by Chen Moxiang and Xun Huisheng,three kinds by Feng shuluan,and several kinds compiled by other authors.The introduction part includes the research overview of Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber in the period of the Republic of China,as well as the research content,value and innovation of this paper.The first chapter is the description of Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber in the period of the Republic of China,including the description,preservation and edition.The second chapter discusses Ouyang Yuqian and his Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber,studies Ouyang Yuqian's interpretation and expression of the novel Dream of the Red Chamber,the characteristics of drama aesthetics,and the embodiment of Ouyang's view of drama improvement in his opera.The third chapter studies Qi Rushan's and Mei Lanfang's Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber,and discusses their acceptance of the original novel,the expression of the theme of "love",the aesthetic characteristics of the drama and the reasons for their failure to spread widely.The fourth chapter discusses Chen Moxiang's and Xun Huisheng's Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber,and studies their acceptance of the original work,the expression of the theme of ethics,the art of screenwriting and the reasons for the successful adaptation of the You sisters in the Red Chamber.The fifth chapter investigates the Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber written by Feng shuluan and other playwrights,studies the three kinds of thoughts and artistic characteristics of Feng's opera and the embodiment of Feng's view of drama improvement in his plays Combined with Feng's Talking about drama in xiaohongxuan.this chapter also makes a brief discussion on the eight Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber written by other playwrights.During the period of the Republic of China,the number of repertoire of Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber is far more than that of other periods,and there are many excellent works.Under the influence of the social background and cultural trend of thought at that time,the dramas of this period showed a trend of diversification in theme implication and artistic characteristics,showing the creative style of Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber in full bloom,which also made it play a decisive role in the history of Peking Opera of Dream of the Red Chamber and even the whole history of the opera of Dream of the Red Chamber in the period of the Republic of China.
