On The Use Of Texture In Painting Works

Whether it is oil painting,Chinese painting,prints,or watercolor,lacquer painting and other categories of painting,there is the universal use of textures.With the progress of times and innovation of painting theory and skill,the creation and application of textures are more prevalent and personalized in the consistent exploration and self-expression of artists.This paper,also an extension of undergraduate thesis,focuses on the texture effect accidentally discovered in painting experiment.With paper as the carrier,it further researches the rendering state of texture effect in different materials,techniques,and their respective characteristics.It is found in continuous experiments that the texture effect presents a sense of randomness and traces of reality,which is beyond the reach of brush.Meanwhile,full of infinite chance,texture effect may even break the shackles of mind and affect creation and picture's rendering effect directly or potentially.In the process of creation,along with the continuous deepening and exploring of texture techniques,the internal pursuit of spirit under the surface of picture is to face its own reflection of different stage;the external display is to find inevitable law and direction with texture effect as the starting point.Both of them are constantly dialectical,integrated,divided and developed.This process will truly remain on pictures without reservation over time.
