Research On Font Design In "Time Comics" Magazine During The Republic Of China

The "Times Comics" magazine in the 1930 s showed the life of Shanghai residents and the current affairs of the society with the brushstrokes of comics.In the multiple relationships between text and image,East and West,tradition and modernity,politics and culture,"Time Cartoon" presents the social outlook,cultural accomplishment and political phenomenon of an era.The research theme of this article is the font design in "Times Comics".On the one hand,starting from the dimension of "characters",it studies the origin and development of artistic characters,styles,and the characteristics of font design and image layout in magazines;on the other hand,From the perspective of "people",it studies the form and style of the font creators of "Time Cartoon",and explores the influence of that "era" group on today's graphic design.At the same time,with the inspiration of the art characters of the Republic of China with distinctive characteristics of the times and diverse design styles,rethinking and re-creation of font and graphic design.
