The Book of Songs is one of the thirteen Confucian classics. The three sections in the Book of Songs reflect the social customs of the pre-Qin period and are the treasures of early Chinese literature and art. This paper takes “Ode Music” in the Book of Songs as the research object, demonstrates the phenomenon of “demythicize”implied in it,and discusses the functional changes of ancestor worship music and dance, music instrument and music system,as well as the occurrence and development of related “rites and music belief”.This paper holds that the phenomenon of “demystification” is universal and diachronic. It not only exists in the “Ode Music” in the book of songs, but also exists in various ideological levels of pre-Qin society. It becomes the internal driving force for the Zhou people to construct and develop “belief in rites and music”,and is the dynamic development epitome of pre-Qin music art and even thought history.
