Catalytic Imagination

Speculative design is a cautious inference of a possible future world,and also an opportunity and platform for people to think deeply and communicate.The setting of its premise and background is based on a world in which technology and virtual function have been realized in the future.In the face of the existence of this technology and function,what kind of situation people accept or oppose,and what kind of issues are worthy of forward-looking discussion.The speculative and critical thinking and questioning caused by these discussions promote the emergence of ideas,and ultimately achieve the purpose of the optimizing consciousness.The characteristics of installation art and speculative design can seek the differences and similarities between each other,then keep or promote them.On the foundation of the imagination,the mode of thinking and the creation of the method of speculative design can bring us new thinking and more innovation to installation art.Based on the interpretation of the development process and core features of speculative design and installation art and the carding of relevant cases,this paper compares and summarizes the similarities and differences of relevant concepts,deeply discusses the importance of various features and the role of imagination in the combination of speculative design and installation art,and finally makes a systematic summary of the design methods and steps of installation art in the context of speculative design.The conclusion is helpful to the practical application of related art creative work and provides the basis for the profound study.
