Belgian artist Luc Tuymans has been on the scene since the late 1980 s.His art creation is good at looking for resources or directly from on-the-spot images for embezzlement, and the reshaping of the image elements for the selectivity, the translated, hidden, transplantation, and dealing with conflict and implicitly, plus his knack for narrative, seems to make image behind hidden real consciousness in their artistic creation.Tuymans never presents his personal subjective thoughts directly in the picture.Instead,he creates a micro perspective with a certain distance through very subtle and obscure clues or hints to guide the viewer to find the truth hidden behind the image. It can be said that Tuymans has been trying to assist his memory through images, through the representation of images,to find out the truth deprived by media and photos and images, and to get to the essence of the objects he wants to present. This paper mainly studies how Luc Tuymans presents the truth behind images and hides it in his artistic creation by using the method of literature reference, induction and summary and work research. The whole paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter elaborates the causes of Tuymans' painting characteristics from two aspects: family contradiction under the political background and intuitive choice under the turbulent environment. The second chapter is an overview of Tuymans artistic creation of the main line of expression; The third chapter and the fourth chapter respectively from the presentation methods and metaphorical works of these two aspects of his works to present the reality of research; The fifth chapter elaborates the influence of Tuymans on my artistic cognition and practice, and summarizes the mental course and presentation form of my artistic creation.
