Research On Bronze Casting Workshops Of Shang Culture

The object of study of this thesis is the bronze casting workshops in sites of Shang Culture.The bronze casting workshop was an important location for the processing of national resources in the Shang Dynasty and was the main location for bronze casting.In this paper,the bronze casting workshops found in the sites of Shang Culture are summarized and compared.The paper firstly classifies the bronze casting workshops into different categories according to the regional arrangements and relevance of different processes in the bronze casting workshops,and places different types of bronze casting workshops in different stages of development of Shang Culture and the distribution area of Shang Culture,and analyzes the characteristics of bronze casting workshops and the distribution of resources in different regions before and after the two stages of Shang Culture,and analyzes the origin and change of bronze casting workshops,production methods and layout characteristics.The paper believes that the bronze casting workshops in sites of Shang Culture can be roughly classified into two types,corresponding to the capital cities and local settlements.It can be analyzed that the two types have different distribution of mineral resources,which also reflect the production of the bronze casting industry that tends to be specialized in the Shang culture period.
