Research On Bronze Casting Workshop From Erlitou Culture To Spring And Autumn Period

we conduct a preliminary analysis on the distribution and evolution of the production function areas of copper casting workshop in Zhengzhou Shangcheng,Yinxu,Houma,and perform a simple analysis on the production layout of other copper casting workshops within the scope of the study,which basically clarifies the production layout of each copper casting workshop from the Erlitou Culture to the Spring and Autumn Period.At least since the Erligang period,there has been a separation between the casting site for producing pottery mould and molten copper.There are many casting sites for molten copper at the same time in Miaopu North casting workshop.Similar cases also include ?? locality of Houma casting copper workshop,and there are many working areas and storage areas at the ? locality of Houma casting copper workshop at the same time.The phenomenon of multiple simultaneous production processes may indicate the existence of different products or different modules of the same product,reflecting a high degree of labor specialization.In addition,although there are few cast copper remains found in other cities,we can still tell the specific process within the operation chain of copper casting according to its excavation background and shape,which can make us grasp the excavation status of cast copper remains as a whole.Futhermore,we sorted out the location of copper-casting workshops found in settlement from the Erlitou Culture Period to Spring and Autumn Period,in order to determine the changes of considerable factors in the location selection of copper-casting workshops in the city site planning of different settlements of different periods.We found that from the Erlitou Culture Period to Spring and Autumn Period,the influence of political factors on the location of copper-casting workshops was gradually reduced,and the layout of copper-casting workshops was gradually taken seriously by planners.Since the Huanbei Period,the location selection of copper-casting workshops was more practical.Although the dominant factors of location of copper-casting workshops in different cities were different,such as close to the consumers of products in Zheng Han's states,Others,far away from the core areas of settlements to facilitate the transportation of raw materials and minimize the interference of handicraft workshops on residential areas in Zhou Yuan,.More commonly,different types of handicraft workshops are centralized to construct comprehensive production areas of handicraft industry,so as to reduce the contradiction between people and land,facilitate the construction of infrastructure,and strengthen the links between different types of workshops.
