Among many kinds of environmental ethics paradigms of holism, ecocentrism is undoubtedly the most representative. From the perspective of ethical expansionism, ecocentrism brings the whole ecosystem into the scope of ethical concern, and its radical degree is unprecedented.Since the emergence of ecocentrism, this theoretical school has been full of controversy.Ecocentrism belittles people from the "spirit of all things" to the ordinary members of the ecological community, regards the harmony and stability of the ecosystem as the highest value standard, fundamentally criticizes the relevant views of anthropocentrism and individualism, and pushes the trend of thought of ecological holism to the peak. However, the practice of ecocentrism also brings about the deconstruction of the relationship between man and nature, reducing man to natural existence. The reason why ecocentrism tends to reductionism lies in the integrity it constructs. The author believes that,in essence, the whole constructed by ecocentrism is a kind of "one and many" integrity, that is,man and all things in nature constitute a whole. This holistic view of "one and many" is rooted in the ancient Greek tradition.Transcending this holistic view lies in moving from "one and many" to "unity of opposites",that is,man and nature are a unity of opposites, not "one and many".This unity of opposites not only maintains man's Transcendence over nature, but also maintains the unity between man and nature, and fully demonstrates the purpose of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
