A Study On The Motif Of "Swan Virgin" In Chinese Literature

The story of Swan—Maidens is a type of famous world story motif.Similar fantasy stories with ancient folk connotations can be found in many countries and nationalities such as Asia,Europe and Africa.At present,the earliest story of Swan—Maidens can be traced back to Gan Bao's ?Sou Shen Ji?of Jin Dynasty,in which a short legend of ?Sweater Girl? is recorded.The story of Swan—Maidens usually describes the folklore that a mortal man met and fell in love with a goddess transformed from birds by stealing clothes.With the passage of time,the story of Swan—Maidens has integrated a variety of times and regional characteristics in its evolution,resulting in such exotic stories as “cowherd and weaver girl”,“tiger skin well”and“the tale of Ming Lie Zi”,which shows its great influence on Chinese culture For far—reaching.However,there is a great contradiction in the Swan—Maidens story itself,that is,men gain the trust and even love of women by their immoral behavior of stealing clothes.However,this kind of immoral story with anti logic is widely spread and developed all over the world.Different regional civilizations thousands of miles apart give birth to similar Mythological Images and totem worship,which is more similar to a human group The phenomenon of body culture.This paper will use the method of narratology,take the story of Chinese Swan—Maidens as the main research object,to decompose its narrative,to decompose six character models and 14 behavior patterns,and to decompose the story twice based on the three stages of the story,we can get the core differences between the story of Swan—Maidens and its other motif,which are bathing,stealing clothes,fairy leaving.Based on this difference,we can use the way of narratology and primitive worship to condense the "contradictory points" of Swan—Maidens,and then reconstruct the ancient people's group consciousness.We can see that the story of Swan—Maidens is not anti logic,nor anti moral.It is a common spiritual demand of different classes and genders born in a special period,and it is also a kind of early people It is a symbol of the awakening of people's group consciousness,and it is hoped that this way of consciousness awakening can provide some enlightenment for the development of modern human society.
