With the successful inclusion of the China Grand Canal in the "World Cultural Heritage List",the Grand Canal has received more and more attention from the society.The academic community has also conducted research on the Grand Canal from multiple perspectives such as canal excavation,cultural heritage protection and development,and ecological environment.This article mainly discusses the aesthetic value of the Jiangnan Canal,in order to enrich the content of the canal culture research and expand its scope and connotation.The thesis is divided into three levels.The first part outlines and sorts out the excavation,dredging and development of the Jiangnan Canal from the perspective of reality.At the same time,the canal provides an opportunity for mobility.The water of the canal not only shapes the landscape of the Jiangnan water town,establishes the regional urban pattern,connects the canal city belt,but also enables the historically built-in local power due to geographical restrictions to be exerted and contributes to the originally closed economy.-The cultural circle provides the possibility to interact with each other,forming a richer and vivid Jiangnan cultural map.As a river,why does the Jiangnan Canal shift from practicality to aesthetics,with rich aesthetic connotations? Throughout the ages,there have been countless wonderful experiences along the canal "down to the south of the Yangtze River".The second part focuses on the image of "Xia Jiangnan",and uses scatter perspective to settle down on the image of the Jiangnan Canal in the literary works through the method of close reading of the text,and take an aesthetic view of it.The "boat" is a tool for "going down to the south of the Yangtze River",the "bridge" is a common sight in the journey,and the "ferry" is an important place for travelers to voyage or land ashore.These three types of typical images are selected to jointly construct the image of "Xia Jiangnan".At the same time,the characters on the canal are the perceptual subjects placed in the situation when "going down to the south of the Yangtze River",and the scenery and scenery on the canal are the aesthetic space embodied in the scenery,as well as the emotional projection of the characters.The third part is to analyze the deep meaning of Jiangnan Canal aesthetics.As a water system that focuses on manpower and nature,it is designed ingeniously in excavation,operation,repair,and has a complete system.It contains system thinking and the beauty of wisdom.It is an ingenious combination of natural work and manpower,and is "a monument that witnesses human will and strength." Starting from the "transportation" dimension of interconnection,combined with the Ming and Qing dynasties at the peak of the water transport function,the Jiangnan Canal explores the practical beauty,fluid beauty,and social beauty of the Jiangnan Canal from a broader perspective by connecting docks,ship locks,folk customs and other aspects.From the perspective of "Jiangnan",the Jiangnan Canal has an ultra-utilitarian poetic aesthetic,which is also different from other canals in aesthetic characteristics.In this way,we can grasp the different characteristics of Jiangnan Canal from other canals.The concluding part mainly expounds the status quo of the Jiangnan Canal,briefly explaining its internal and external influences on the region and culture,including the Canal Cultural Belt,and further demonstrates the importance and practical significance of studying Jiangnan Canal literature and Jiangnan Canal culture.
