Creation Report For The Documentary "I Once Was A TV Man"

In the face of the impact of new media,the Internet has become a new information gathering place,and the decline of traditional media is an indisputable fact.In the face of the crisis,what is the way out for traditional media practitioners?This is the question haunting the author who has been involved in the traditional TV media for ten years.The documentary“I worked in television industry”focuses on media professionals situated in the transition of the traditional media,adopting the presentation mode of group images from multiple perspectives,the narrative structure of plate type as the main part and series type as the auxiliary part,and the civilian-oriented and microscopic shooting point of view,to record factually the working and living conditions of six different professionals in the transformation period.And by presenting their feelings for the changes in the process of transformation,as well as the thoughts of media development in the future,the audience is exposed to the cross section on the contemporary media practitioners' life in transformation of traditional media,providing a new thought for millions of Chinese traditional media practitioners.The production of this film lasted for almost a year,planning,shooting,post-production all completed by the author in person.This paper is the report of author's original graduation work“I worked in television industry”combining author's creative practice,and analyzing the documentary narrative strategy of the industry group,in order to enrich and expand the narrative research in the field of documentary film.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction.Starting from the topic selection of the documentary “Traditional Media People's Transformation”,it analyzes the creation origin,the significance of the topic selection,the research status,research objectives and research methods of the film.The second part is an overview of industry group documentaries,combing industry group documentaries in China from three aspects of relevant concepts,creation status and narrative concepts.The third part is the elaboration of the director's analysis structure,which discusses the graduation work from narrative viewpoint,structure,language and features.The last part is the reflection of the graduation creation and research,summing up the shortcomings and gains in the creation process,and accumulating experience for the next more improved creation and research.
