A Pragmatic Study Of Zen Questions And Answers In "Five Deng Hui Yuan"

Q & A is a very common language phenomenon.There have been quite a lot of achievements in the research of general question and answer.However,as a very unique language phenomenon,the question and answer in Zen language is quite different from that in general language environment.It has many distinct characteristics and has great research value and prospect.Based on the perspective of pragmatics and from the perspective of conversational analysis,this paper analyzes and studies the phenomenon of Zen Q &A from the famous quotations of Zen "five Lantern Festival yuan" handed down in the Southern Song Dynasty.Through a large number of collation and analysis of the corpus of the question and answer phenomenon in the five Lantern Festival,this paper investigates a series of special manifestations of the Zen question and answer phenomenon in the pragmatic environment.Combined with the relevant theories and research methods in the field of conversation analysis,it makes a preliminary analysis of the understanding of the Zen question and answer phenomenon and the realization of the communicative intention in the question and answer.In addition to the introduction,summary and conclusion,the article is divided into three parts,respectively,to explore the form classification,structure analysis and operation mechanism of the question and answer phenomenon in the five Lantern Festival yuan.The question and answer phenomenon in five Lantern Festival is very complex and various.Considering that the different situation of Q & A will have different influence on the realization of communicative intention in Q &A,this paper first refers to the research of Zen language by the predecessors,and according to their own understanding and research needs,extracts more than 500 Q & A corpus from the five Lantern Festival yuan as the standby corpus for the research of this paper.Then select some representative examples,according to the characteristics of the form,the corpus is divided into five categories: rhetorical questions,non questions,different answers to the same question,evasive answers and behavioral answers.This paper studies the conversational process of question and answer in the five Lantern Festival from four aspects of communicative intention,communicator,context and speech form,and analyzes the factors that affect the realization of communicative intention in the conversational process with the help of corpus.The article holds that the communicative intention is the core of the question and answer phenomenon in the five Lantern Festival,which is embodied in the intention of the Zen master to guide the learners to understand the Zen theory.In specific circumstances,the communicative intention may be different.The situation and cognition of the communicator will affect the pragmatic strategies and speech forms used in the conversation.Context will have an impact on the expression of communicative intention and the choice of speech form.Speech form is the carrier for Zen master and learners to express and realize their communicative intention.In the phenomenon of Zen question and answer,the difference of the form of question and answer is exactly the expression that the Zen masters use the form of speech flexibly in order to guide the learners to understand the Zen theory according to the different context and the situation of the communicators.The operation mechanism of the question and answer phenomenon in the five Lantern Festival,that is,the realization of communicative intention in question and answer conversation,is the focus of this paper.The research shows that this process can be divided into three stages: the first is the generation stage of communicative intention;the second is the selection stage of speech form;the third is the generation stage of speech form.It is worth mentioning that these three stages have been run once in both Zen master and scholar.However,in the Zen question and answer phenomenon,most of the questions and answers are based on the mode of learning people as questioners and Zen master as respondents,and Zen master dominates the process of question and answer and the communicative intention in question and answer.The unique speech forms in the question and answer phenomenon in the five Lantern Festival yuan also mostly appear in Zen master's words.Therefore,in the research process of these three stages,this paper mainly studies It is the realization process of Zen master's communicative intention.Through the study of these three stages,this paper holds that the realization process of Zen master's communicative intention can be expressed as follows: after being stimulated by external information(inquiry and inquiry intention of learners),the thought of response(answer intention)-referring to the questioner's situation and context at that time,according to the principles of relevance,significance,etc Consider what kind of speech form to choose to express the Zen master's answer intention-the speech form bearing the answer intention is generated,and the learners can understand their communication intention according to the Zen master's answer.
