| Since US President Donald Trump came to took office in 2017,he has changed the previous government's tendency of weakening relations with Israel and showed a strong signal of favoritism in his diplomatic strategy and stance.On January 28,2020,the Trump government officially launched its "Deal of the Century" or "New Middle East Peace Plan" to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and promote the Middle East peace process.This paper sorts out the main contents of the document,and analyzes the reasons and effects of the policy.The first chapter introduces the background of the "New Middle East Peace Plan".The second chapter sorts out the main contents of the document,including the political framework and economic framework.The third chapter analyzes the reasons for the releasing of the "New Middle East Peace Plan" by the Trump administration,including the influence of the Israeli lobbying groups,the promotion of Trump's Middle East policy core team,and the influence of American Christian evangelical groups on Israel.The last chapter analyzes the influence of the new Middle East Peace Plan and makes a reasonable prediction of the future trend of US Middle East policy.The plan aims at forcing Palestine to reach an agreement with Israel through economic means,sacrificing the sovereignty and territory of Palestine in exchange for peace between Palestine and Israel.It is the result of both domestic and international factors of the United States.It is the hegemonic clause that the United States uses power to coerce small countries,and fully demonstrates the unilateralist thinking and hegemonic nature of the United States.From the perspective of influence effect,it does not achieve the expected goal,nor can it achieve the effect of properly resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and promoting the Middle East peace process. |
