In the early days of the founding of new China,Liaoning Province,as an important part of the northeast old industrial base,made important contributions to the development of new China.The media described Liaoning as the starting point of the Republic's industry.After entering the new century,the problems in the development of the northeast old industrial base began to appear.The state implemented the strategy of revitalizing the northeast old industrial base according to local conditions.In this process,the people's daily and Liaoning Daily focused on "revitalizing the old industrial base","Liaoning coastal economic belt" and "Liaoning state-owned enterprise reform",On the whole,it plays a positive role in the construction of Liaoning image.However,after the new century,with the increase of the main body of information dissemination,the dissemination content also presents the characteristics of diversification and complexity.Liaoning's own image begins to face difficulties and obstacles in the process of dissemination.The media set the agenda in the report,and the lack of public opinion guidance leads to the deepening of the negative stereotype of Liaoning,which is very different from the real image of Liaoning,and is not conducive to the spread of the image of Liaoning and its own development.This paper focuses on the reports of Liaoning by people's daily and Liaoning Daily from2000 to 2019.Through the extraction,classification and induction of the report samples,this paper analyzes in detail how the two newspapers construct the image of Liaoning through the reports,and summarizes the presentation characteristics of the image of Liaoning.The main contents of this paper include: the first chapter combs the evolution process of Liaoning's image in stages according to the historical process,from the establishment of the image of Liaoning's old industrial base in the early days of the founding of new China to the best development period of the old industrial base before and after the reform and opening up,and then to the revitalization and consolidation of the image of Liaoning's old industrial base after the adjustment of the development mode in the early new century.The second chapter focuses on the analysis of people's daily and Liaoning Daily's reports on Liaoning since the new century.It makes a detailed analysis from the number of subjects,content,tendency,layout and genre of reports,and compares the similarities and differences between the two newspapers in the process of constructing the image of Liaoning.Based on the analysis of the second chapter,the third chapter analyzes the discourse in the reports of people's daily and Liaoning Daily,and summarizes the presentation characteristics of Liaoning's image in politics,economy,people's livelihood,culture and ecology.In the fourth chapter,aiming at the problems of agenda setting,unbalanced reporting tendency,lack of innovation in reporting mode and content in the process of image communication of Liaoning,the corresponding solutions are given,such as reasonable agenda setting,accurate positioning of Liaoning image,balanced reporting tendency,and increasing the attention of soft news.
