In multi-ethnic country,the ethnic unity is the spirit of mutual acceptance of all ethnic groups and ethnic people cohesion,is to carry out the ethnic work and promote ethnic progress development important foundation and the safeguard,also is the important content of socialist spiritual civilization construction,the cohesion and power,plays an important role in social stability,unified country.As a unified multi-ethnic country with a long history,China’s basic national conditions determine the importance of ethnic unity for China,which is directly related to the survival of the Chinese nation,national security,social progress and the fundamental interests of the people of all ethnic groups.Without ethnic unity,it would be impossible to achieve social harmony and ethnic unity,and it would be out of the question to finish building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and turn China into a great modern socialist country.The communist party of China since its inception,has always attached great importance to the unity of the problem,trying to explore the practice way to ethnic unity,national ethnic thought rich theory,properly handle the ethnic problems,the construction of a harmonious atmosphere of ethnic unity,promote the common progress of all ethnic groups are closely united.Since the party’s18,under the background of new era,with Xi Jinping as the core of the party central committee from the perspective of strategic global,long-term planning,put forward to adapt to the new economic development stage of the socialist ethnic unity of ideas,these ideas are the latest creative development of the Marxist national theory,the concept connotation is rich,deep thought,has the distinctive historical characteristics,It has opened up a new realm in ethnic work and enriched the CPC’s theoretical and practical value of ethnic unity.The main body of this paper mainly consists of four parts.The first part summarizes the theoretical origin,development process and stage exploration achievements of the CPC’s thought of ethnic unity in the context of history,reflects the historical track of ethnic theory with Chinese characteristics and ethnic work.The second part from the ideological basis,development measures,the highest interests,tasks and objectives of the CPC’s ethnic unity since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the content of the thought,and the innovation of its times were analyzed.The fourth part takes the situation of Wuchuan Gelao and Miao Autonomous County,Zunyi City,Guizhou Province as an important practice typical case to illustrate the specific measures and practical results of ethnic unity work in the southwest ethnic minority areas since the 18 th National Congress of the CPC.The third part discusses the theoretical value and practical value of the CPC’s thought of ethnic unity in the new era,deepens the understanding of the laws of China’s ethnic problems and ethnic work.Only by actively and profoundly studying the essence of the CPC’s theory on ethnic unity since the 18 th National Congress of the CPC and properly grasping some key points and problems in ethnic work can we lay a good foundation for the scheduled realization of the Chinese Dream.
