| Xinhua Daily was the only party newspaper published and distributed by the Communist Party of China in the Kuomintang ruled area during the Anti-Japanese War,and it was also a melting pot of revolution.From its inception in Wuhan in 1938 to its suspension in Chongqing in 1947,it was cultivated in more than nine years.During the time,A large number of newspapermen such as Pan Zinian,Xiong Jinding,Zhang Hanfu,Wu Kejian and others as the core forces have had an impact that cannot be underestimated on the development of party newspapers and the advancement of the revolution.Inspired by the revolutionary torrent,the newspaperman group of Xinhua Daily united into a fighting collective with one heart and one mind.During the reign of the white terror,on the one hand,they were not afraid of risks and swiftly,fighting against reactionary forces;on the other hand,they dared to use newspapers to propagate the party’s policies and propositions.They were loyal fighters on the news front,the steadfast and tenacious warriors of "Xinhua Army",and the actual creators of the Xinhua Daily journalistic cause.However,due to some historical reasons,this group has received little attention from the journalism history circle;moreover,most studies of Xinhua Daily focus on the newspaper but not the newspapermen which made a great contribution.Therefore,this research attempts to explore the history and characteristics of the early Xinhua Daily from the perspective of the newspaperman group,and rereview the history and the value of the Xinhua Daily from the perspective of the reporter and its activities.It strives to restore the vividness of characters and the diversity of history to the greatest extent,combining the examination of social history and intellectual history,to highlight the charm of historical research.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the thesis is mainly divided into four chapters,taking the newspaper activities of the Xinhua Daily newspaperman group as a clue,linking up the complete historical picture of this group from its formation to its function.The first three chapters respectively analyze and discuss the reasons,the whole course and the experience of the newspaperman group of Xinhua Daily,and examine the vivid course of mutual achievement between the group and the newspaper.The emergence of the early Xinhua Daily newspaperman group had its historical inevitability.All of them had something in common: the emotion of "Family-country" of traditional Chinese scholars,personal ideals in turbulent times,belief in the Communist Party,and so on.At that time,the Kuomintang and the Communist Party cooperated for the second time under the tense war.All of these helped bring the early newspapermen of Xinhua Daily together.Coupled with the special background of running the newspaper,their newspaper work was quite tragic from the beginning.This tragedy is not only reflected in the painstaking effort,but also in the adherence to principles and the pursuit of progress in the practice of doing news,which has accumulated valuable experience for the subsequent development of the party newspaper of China.Based on the first three chapters,the fourth chapter attempts to summarize the influence of the newspaperman group of Xinhua Daily.On the one hand,the newspaperman’s achievements in running the newspaper-Xinhua Daily played a huge role in a critical historical period and became an important newspaper in the annals of history;on the other hand,the newspaperman’s experience in running newspapers contributed to the development of the party’s newspaper thought.The construction has played a certain leading role,and the exemplary power of the newspaperman group itself also had a profound impact in the subsequent development of journalism. |
