A Study Of Political Mobilization Of The New Democratic Youth League (1949-1957)

Youth is the object of various political forces.Whoever wins the youth wins the future.On the eve of the founding of New China,the Chinese Communist Party decided to re-establish the Youth League after repeated discussions and renamed it as New Democratic Youth League in order to cater to China's need for revolution and construction development,as well as healthy growth of the youths.It could be seen from above that the New Democratic Youth League was an important component of the strategy of the Chinese Communist Party to win the national revolution and construct the people's regime of the country.After the founding of New China,the New Democratic Youth League gradually became a core organ that united and educated the youths,by carrying out extensive political mobilization among the youths under the correct leadership of the CCP.The political mobilization of the New Democratic Youth League was composed of subjects,objects,contents,and methods.From the perspective of the subjects,the New Democratic Youth League had distinctive organizational characteristics with accurate political positioning.The establishment of the league represented not only the restoration of the organizational form,but also the development to a higher level;From the perspective of the objects,the youths were the mobilized objects with subjective activity,who could not only implement guiding principles,guidelines and policies of the CCP,under the leadership of the league,but also require the league to conduct activities that meet their own characteristics and requirements;From the perspective of the contents,the New Democratic Youth League conducted the political mobilization activities by adhering to the principle of central task of the CCP and the league's independent activities.Activities of the New Democratic Youth League were conducted respectively in the period of national economic recovery,the period of the planned construction of the national economy,and the period of comprehensive socialism construction;From the perspective of the methods,diversified strategies including organizational leadership,publicity and model demonstrations were adopted for recognition,support and engagement of the youths.The New Democratic Youth League helped the youths understand and agree with political views of the Chinese Communist Party and arouse the enthusiasm of the youths to participate in the construction of New China.The political mobilization of the New Democratic Youth League was colorful.Among them,there were not only some successful experiences,but also some shortcomings.Past experience,if not forgotten,is a guide for the future.It's of important reference significance to summarize the positive political mobilization effect of the league from the angle of the CCP,the Chinese society and the New Democratic Youth League and analyze the shortcomings based on specific examples.
