Although the mainland and Taiwan share the same ancestry, there is a great difference in education system because of the differences in political system and ideology. At present, comparative study on the junior high school mathematics courses in mainland and Taiwan is still stay at the macro at home and abroad. For example, curriculum reform, the characteristics of the outline and the standard, the concept of the preparation of textbooks and so on. For the comparative study on the junior high school mathematics textbooks is only on the field of "number and algebra", the field of "graph and geometry" is still relatively lacking. But there are some differences not only in the structure of the preparation and the selection of specific knowledge unit, but the exercises setted for the two textbooks of PEP and Nani. In addition, the content of geometric has been the focus that discussed between the countries around the world in the junior high school, so the comparative study on the "graph and geometry" in mainland and Taiwan mathematics textbooks has a theoretical and practical value.In this study, the literature analysis, content analysis, comparative analysis, as well as the TIMSS are integrate used to focus on the field of "graph and geometry" in the junior high school mathematics textbooks. Based on the comparative analysis of Mainland "the Obligatory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standards (2011Version)" in Mainland and "The Nine-year Consistent Mathematics Curriculum Outline" in Taiwan, the organized and the choice of knowledge unit and the number of exercises, exercises types as well as exercise cognitive level are found quite different in two textbooks, which in the overall structure of the presentation style and presentation part of the structure. As follows:Firstly, which in the overall layout of textbook, Nani cultivates international talents and more readable than PEP;Secondly, PEP textbooks organized is prepared by mixing, Nani textbook embodies polyclinic write; Thirdly, judging from the choice of the two textbooks, the higher of the PEP textbook knowledge breadth arrangements, while focusing on the choice of training the students’ knowledge of the concept of space;Nani textbook focus on the choice of learning the process knowledge, and the arrangement of experimental geometry is more than PEP;At last, the examples and quizzes exercises of Nani textbook are more than PEP,but the section exercises, the chapter exercises, as well as the general topic volume are less than PEP textbook; Judging from the type setting of the exercises, Nani focus on the routine exercises setting, there is richer types of exercises setting in PEP and it focus on the real life scenarios setting; in addition,PEP pays attention to set more the level of "reasoning" exercises, but Nani is "understanding" and "application" exercises.Finally, based on the difference of the two setting of teaching materials and their own characteristics, some suggestions to improve the materials and the compilations of textbooks about the "graph and geometry" are proposed in this paper. Firstly, what improving the compilations of textbooks of PEP for the field of "graph and geometry" in the junior high school mathematics textbooks is enhance the internal integrity of mathematical knowledge; increase the amount of examples, focus on the process of knowledge formation; what’s more, increase the content of the experimental geometry settings; increase the readability of the materials; at last is profile and international integration and cultivate international talents. Secondly, what improving the recommendations prepared of Nani by the field of "graph and geometry" in the junior high school mathematics textbooks is increase the setting which can improve students’concept of space; increase the situational settings of exercises and improve the ability of students to solve practical problems; increase more integrated set of exercises which improve students’reasoning ability; what’s more, increase the use of information technology. Thirdly, what improving the recommendations of compilation for the field of "graph and geometry" is experimental geometry and demonstration geometric should set cross-fusion, and re-present; the mixed choreography process should highlight the integrity, grasp the subject; what’s more, it should focus on the profile settings of geometric content, and develop students’ spatial imagination.
