The Research On Ieological And Political Education Function Of University Motto

The school motto is a high condensation of school concept and campus culture.It is succinct,eloquent and meaningful,which has instructional significance and important function for teachers and students.Influenced by the traditional Confucian culture,the school motto of our country takes "virtue" and "kindness" as its source of thought and plays an immeasurable role in the realization of students’ all-round development.In the new era,ideological and political education is indispensable for college students to cultivate all-round development of morality,intelligence,physique,aesthetics and labor.Meanwhile,it is also necessary for ideological and political education to play the role of school motto.Ideological and political education is the main means to play the role of school motto and school motto is an important content of ideological and political education.In the process of realizing the all-round development of college students,the school motto exerts the ideological and political education function of leading,cultivating,shaping,cohering,regulating and radiation.At present,the main obstacles for the university motto to play its role in ideological and political education are: the construction of the university motto needs to be improved,the emphasis of the university motto needs to be strengthened,the propaganda of the university motto is not in place and the environmental support needs to be improved.In order to strengthen the ideological and political education function of university motto and better promote the all-round development of morality,intelligence,physique,aesthetics and labor of college students,we should explore from the following four aspects:deepening the multiple connotations of university motto,enriching various carriers of university motto education,actively carrying out university motto publicity and education,and improving the support of university motto construction environment.
