Chinese high school geography curriculum standards(2017 edition)proposes cultivation of geographic practice ability,with the main goal of cultivating students' practical ability and spirit of scientific inquiry.Activity as an important content of geography textbook,as an important way and method to implement geographical practice.Which is composed of activity questions and activity operation steps,and plays an important role in cultivating students' ability of inquiry learning and rigorous scientific spirit.Inquiry learning as learning and teaching method was advocated by the new curriculum reform in China,activity is an important carrier and medium of inquiry learning.In order to further deepen understanding of inquiry learning,and broaden the vision to understand the characteristics of the compilation of foreign textbook activities at the same time,it provides a reference for the compilation and development of Chinese textbook exploration activities.This paper takes Chinese and American senior high school geography textbooks exploration activities as comparative supporter.the content of the exploration activities,including the column setting of the exploration activities and the types of the exploration activities;the organization of exploration activities,including question setting of inquiry activities and the activities between teachers and students;the presentation of exploration activities,including the presentation mode of the exploration activities and the context setting of the exploration activities.This paper from three dimensions and six perspectives to study.By comparing two countries geography textbooks and founding below different.In terms of content selection,both countries attaches great importance to the students' application in geography and geographical knowledge into daily life,American textbooks are emphasis on operating experiment and cultivating the student's ability of data analysis,deepen rich content,while some activities is too difficult to operating.Chinese textbook attaches great importance to the comprehensive ability and filed work ability.In terms of content organization,two countries are highly logical and conform to students' cognitive psychology.American textbook questions setting are intuitive and instructive,and attached importance to arrange activities teacher and students,Chinese textbook some questions insufficient guidance and lack of activity arrangement for teachers.In terms of content presentation,two countries textbook pay more attention to the creation of life situations,American textbooks pay more attention to the secondary use of charts.Chinese textbook pay more attention to the application of physical landscape maps and schematic diagrams.However,some activities setting are quite straightforward to the subject.Based on the analysis conclusion,which proposes Chinese senior high school geography textbook exploration activities development principle,active development should pay attention to the training of geographical practice force,prominent geographical discipline logic,strengthen the contact with life situations.And exploration activities designs should increase the number of experiments and type,strengthen geographic activity of exploring situation creation,strengthening the activity,and carries on the inquiry activity teaching case design.
