The development and popularization of information technology have brought significant changes to people's thinking development and lifestyle.Computational thinking has become an important part of human development and a universal ability required for human survival in the digital age.Since professor Jeannette M.Wing of Carnegie Mellon university in the United States put forward the concept of computational thinking,there has been a heated discussion in the field of international education.Now "calculation" has been integrated into all aspects of people's life,and various countries are actively carrying out the education of computational thinking.However,in China's current education system,the cultivation of computational thinking in the basic education stage has not received due attention.Therefore,it is special impending to give importance to educate the students' computational thinking in the basic education stage.How to effectively cultivate students' computational thinking in the basic education stage is the top priority.Gaming teaching is an effective teaching mode to stimulate students' interest and promote students to participate in the classroom.The new curriculum reform in our country also puts forward the teaching concept of "combining teaching with pleasure":properly combining"games" and "learning" to create a lively and interesting classroom atmosphere.However,how to combine "education" and "game" perfectly and apply them to game teaching is a big problem to be solved at present.Flow theory provides a new perspective for this.Flow refers to a state of high excitement and fullness when an individual fully devotes his attention to an activity.In the process of game-based teaching design,students' flow experience is induced through the challenge of games,thus stimulating students' learning motivation.Only then can students fully devote themselves to the learning process and have positive emotional changes.Therefore,this research takes the flow theory as the basic guiding ideology,constructs the game teaching pattern facing the elementary student computational thinking development,assists the elementary student computational thinking training.This study answers three questions:(1)How to construct a game-based teaching for pupil' computational thinking based on flow theory?(2)Is the game-based teaching based on flow theory effective in inducing pupils' flow experience and improving their intrinsic motivation?(3)Is the game teaching activity based on flow theory effective in promoting the development of students' computational thinking?Therefore,this research is based on the logic of "theoretical research?mode construction?practical application?effect verification".Firstly,based on literature research,the core concepts and theoretical basis of computational thinking,game teaching and flow theory are systematically combed to clarify how to construct game teaching based on flow theory.Secondly,according to the theoretical framework of flow experience,the research constructs a game model based on flow theory.Then,this study takes the students of two interest classes in grade 4 of Xi 'an S Middle School as the research object(Class 1 is the control class and Class 2 is the experimental class),and refers to the teaching materials of the artificial intelligence course for grade 4 of our school to carry out a two-month teaching practice.Finally,according to the statistical method of quantitative research data,the effectiveness of the game-based teaching activities based on the flow theory is verified by using the flow experience scale,the student learning motivation scale,the computational thinking test and the CT scale from the dimensions of the flow experience of the students in the learning process,the learning motivation of the students and the students' computational thinking when the teaching activities are completed.The research results show that:(1)Game teaching design based on flow experience is helpful to promote students to enter flow state.(2)Game teaching based on flow experience promotes the promotion of students' internal and external motivation.(3)Game-based teaching activities based on flow theory have significantly improved the educate of pupil' computational thinking.(4)Game teaching design based on flow experience can produce the effect of hidden teaching.To sum up,this study realized the use of game-based teaching design to promote the development of primary school students' computational thinking,and solved the problem of insufficient internal motivation of students in the game-based learning process,providing specific guidance for teachers to promote the development of students' computational thinking in the basic stage.
