Children’s emotional understanding ability refers to children’s ability to understand the causes and results of emotions,and also includes the ability to respond to self and other emotions according to the existing emotional information,and generate appropriate emotional response.In recent years,more and more people gradually realize that emotion has a great influence on children’s mental health,social development,etc.it can play a strong and obvious motivation function and communication function,not a "by-product" belonging to other psychological activities.Parenting style is an important form of communication between parents and children.It has been considered that parenting style will directly or indirectly affect the development of emotional understanding ability of3-6-year-old children,and the emotional understanding ability of 3-6-year-old children will also affect the parenting style to a certain extent,both of which have certain connection and complexity.Therefore,90 normal 3-6-year-old children in a public kindergarten in Yuexiu District of Guangzhou were randomly selected as the research objects.The current situation of emotional understanding ability and parental rearing pattern of 3-6-year-old children was analyzed by literature method,the performance characteristics of emotional understanding ability of 3-6-year-old children were studied by situational story method,and the current situation of parental rearing pattern was studied by questionnaire method and interview method To explore the relationship between parenting style and emotional understanding ability of 3-6-year-old children.Finally,we hope to understand the reasons behind the differences in children’s emotional understanding,so as to provide more preschool educators and parents with educational references.The results show that:⑴there is significant age difference in emotional understanding ability of 3-6-year-old children,but there is no significant gender difference.⑵authoritative parenting is the main way of parenting,there is no significant difference in age,gender,and in the state of second child,education and occupation.⑶parenting style is significantly related to the emotional understanding ability of 3-6-year-old children,and parenting style can predict it to someextent.Therefore,the following suggestions are put forward: ⑴ suggestions on parents:strengthen understanding and grasp methods;attach importance to influence and guide;respond appropriately and set an example.⑵ suggestions on Kindergartens: attach importance to training,strengthen education;strengthen interaction,home cooperation.⑶suggestions on society: attach great importance to and strengthen attention;increase investment and pay attention to training.
