| In 2019,the General Office of the State Council officially issued the "Outline for Building a Leading Sports Nation",which outlines China's vision for building a leading sporting nation in the future.The struggle spirit in sports plays an important role in the national development and national rejuvenation,and the dream of a leading sports nation is the most powerful link in the realization of the Chinese dream.The spirit of the women's volleyball team represents the spirit of the Times.It transcends sports and athletics,stimulates National Pride and shouts out the strongest Voice of the Times for the rise of China.Because of this,the Chinese women's volleyball team has received widespread attention.At present,the number of researches on Chinese women's volleyball is not uncommon,but the news reports on Chinese women's volleyball are rare lying in the field of linguistics.In the past,when analyzing all kinds of news reports from the field of linguistics,it involves politics,people's livelihood,economy and so on,and there is not much research on sports.And most of these studies are the use of critical discourse to analyze news discourse,few scholars on sports news positive discourse analysis.Although there have been many studies on Chinese women's volleyball,there are little research on news reports about Chinese women's volleyball from the perspective of linguistics.In the past,studies on news reports from the perspective of linguistics mostly involved politics,people's livelihood,and economics.Research on sports was very limited.And most of these studies use critical discourse to analyze news discourse,and few scholars conduct active discourse analysis on sports news.Sports news reports,while reporting objective facts,also highlight the subjective attitude of news authors,which is suitable for analyzing news corpus with evaluation theory.Therefore,this article studies women's volleyball sports news from the perspective of positive discourse analysis in conjunction with evaluation theory.Positive discourse analysis,as a new perspective of discourse analysis,is a supplement to critical discourse analysis.It encourages analysts to adopt a positive attitude and analyze texts from a constructive perspective,thereby building a harmonious and beautiful human society.Evaluation theory is an important extension of Halliday's systemic functional linguistics.It mainly analyzes evaluation resources in texts,and its theoretical framework is an important paradigm suitable for positive discourse analysis.News reports on Chinese women's volleyball contain a lot of evaluation resources.Analyzing the discourse of news about Chinese women's volleyball in the framework of evaluation theory is not only in line with the new meaning and value of the spirit of women's volleyball in the context of the new era of sports power,but also through Analysis conveys a positive value to society.Positive discourse analysis of Chinese women's volleyball news reports based on evaluation theory is complementary to the study of women's volleyball in the field of linguistics.Therefore,based on the evaluation theory proposed by Martin,and based on the new perspective of discourse analysis-positive discourse,this article selects the 35 Chinese-language newspapers from China Daily,which is a well-known English newspaper in China A news report is used as a corpus for active discourse analysis.This article mainly uses qualitative and quantitative research methods,with the help of corpus tools to analyze the distribution rules and causes of various evaluation resources about women's volleyball in corpora.Studies have shown that: News reports about women 's volleyball contain a large number of evaluation resources,including attitude resources,intervention resources,and graded resources,and most evaluation resources are positive.Among them,attitude resources account for the largest proportion,followed by graded resources and intervention resources.The exploration of evaluation resources in the news can make people better aware of the importance of building a leading sporting nation,thereby building a positive image of a leading sporting nation. |
