The interpretation of teaching strategies,in a broad sense, includes teaching and learning strategies. Therefore,it is necessary to study not only how students learn, but also how to teach students according to their aptitude. All along,in the art teaching as visual art, whether it is painting "seeing" or painting "knowing",the essence is derived from the visual shackles and the representation, processing and maintenance strategies of visual memory.difference.To study the visual memory of junior high school students, one is to understand the factors that affect the processing and maintenance of visual memory of junior high school students;the second is to understand the specific impact of differences in visual memory on the performance of painting. The third is to study the teaching strategies of visual memory training,to see what kind of teaching can help students improve their visual recognition ability,as well as the extraction and processing ability of visual appearance, and promote the formation of students' artistic thinking and artistic expression. In this study,190 first-and second-year students were selected as subjects, and visual memory(memory capacity, discriminatory ability,shape-drawing ability,shape-forming ability)and painting performance(detail, generality, artistry, and exploration)were performed.Quiz to explore the relationship between grade, gender difference, visual memory and painting performance. On this basis,a short-term training course on visual memory extraction and processing was designed.Based on the feedback of the teaching results, the practical value of visual memory training for junior high school students' art performance ability was analyzed. The results under the conditions of this research show that: the amount of visual materials affects students 'memory;the difficulty of visual materials affects the number of students' shape-forming abilities;the difference between drawing ability and shape-forming ability has an extremely significant impact on painting performance; Most students tend to remember the overall processing mode;there are grades and gender differences in visual memory;the accumulation of visual experience, the formation and development of artistic thinking, and the ability to extract and express visual images all affect students 'visual image creation and painting performance. At the end of this article, according to the differences of visual memory and the factors that affect memory, the teaching and learning strategies to promote the transfer and maintenance of visual memory in art teaching are discussed from the perspective of students and teachers. It is recommended that in teaching, students should be consciously visually remembered and visually imagined, and the images they watched should be connected and organized to cultivate students' ability to create and express visual images. It also prospects and proposes the art teaching combined with visual memory training in the future.
