The cognition and belief of junior high school students have a subtle influence on students' learning, and the degree of influence is increasing. It can be seen that the cognition and belief of mathematics is a factor that cannot be ignored in the process of studying mathematics. With the continuous development of education and the gradual deepening of the reform of mathematics curriculum, teachers pay great attention to the cultivation and establishment of students 'mathematical cognition and belief in classroom teaching.A correct mathematical cognition and belief will help improve students' mathematical ability. This field has also attracted the attention of scholars at home and abroad. The study of students 'mathematical cognition and belief at home and abroad mainly explores the composition of mathematical cognition and belief system and its relationship with students' academic performance, and the mathematical cognition and belief in gender, grade,Ethnic cultures are different, but most students are doing research in areas with better development, and less in areas with slower development. This study is aimed at junior high school students in Xining City, located in the northwestern region.Through a large number of research and analysis of relevant literature on mathematical cognitive beliefs, this paper proposes a definition of mathematical cognitive beliefs and clarifies the composition of mathematical cognitive beliefs,This research adopts literature review method, questionnaire survey method and quantitative analysis method.By referring to the questionnaires of seniors' mathematical beliefs, the three dimensions of mathematical cognitive beliefs are: mathematical knowledge beliefs, mathematical learning beliefs, and mathematical self beliefs.A questionnaire of beliefs. After testing the predicted letter and validity, the questionnaire was formally issued for investigation and research. An analysis and study of 830 junior high school students' mathematical cognition and beliefs in Xining were conducted. The differences between male and female students 'mathematical cognition and belief, and further study the impact of mathematical cognition and belief onAnalysis conclusion:(1)The cognition and belief of mathematics held by junior high school students are significantly related to grade, gender, and mathematics performance.(2)The junior high school students as a whole have standard mathematical beliefs, but there are obvious differences with different grades. The third grade is better than the second grade, and the second grade is better than the first grade.(3)Due to the different genders of the students, there will also be significant differences in the beliefs held in mathematics.Male students of the same grade perform better than female students. On the whole, male students of junior high school students perform better than female students..(4)Because of the differences in grades and genders among junior high school students, there is also a significant difference in their beliefs in mathematics, which affects their mathematics academic performance. As the grades increase, there is a positive correlation between mathematics academic performance The overall research analysis shows that male students have higher math scores than female students.
