How to train middle-level students to be able to successfully go to university,whether in theory or in practice,is a problem worthy of attention.American educators have a long history of launching programs to help high school graduates meet university entry requirements.In addition to AP,IB and other excellent university preparation courses,the Advancement via Individual Determination(AVID)program has been quite effective in helping mid-level students complete university entrance preparation.The Advancement via Individual Determination(AVID)program originated from Claremont High School in California in 1980.It has a history of nearly 40 years since its establishment,affecting 2 million students in K-12 and 50 colleges and universities.Its project is worthy of in-depth study to solve the problem of training middle-level students to successfully go to college.This study uses the literature method and the comparative method to organize and analyze the policy documents,work reports,and statistical documents related to the project,and then discusses the development,content,implementation,and guarantee of the project.Thinking and analyzing,and finally drawing conclusions.Through the existing research,it has been found that the implementation of the Advancement via Individual Determination is targeted at the middle school students with academic performance,who have a certain learning potential.As a result,the program helps mid-level students succeed at college by providing academic and activity support to these students.Data show that people determined to advanced project help academic performance in the medium of three graduates completed four-year university school readiness,increased the high school students into a four-year university after overall durable rate and retention rate,improve the level of the school from grade in medium high school students into a four-year university after graduation rates,reduced the achievement gap between different ethnic groups.Through research,this study has drawn the following three conclusions: From the content point of view,developing students' learning ability through developing courses is the main means to help middle-level students successfully enter the university.In terms of settings,non-intelligent activities are the key to helping students successfully enter the university.From an organizational point of view,multi-party participation and cooperation is an important way to ensure thatmiddle-level students successfully enter the university and the program is successfully implemented.
