The entry competencies refer to the basis of the knowledge and skills that the learner has engaged before in a specific subject content or tasks,as well as the level of knowledge and attitudes related to learning.This research integrates the literature method,interview method,questionnaire survey method and experimental research method,and analyzes the entry competencies of relevant biology knowledge of the seventh grade students as the starting point of teaching.Under the entry competence analysis,this study will explore and solve the practical problems encountered in teaching.This thesis summarized the appropriate teaching strategies to stimulate students' passion to learn biology and improve students' biological literacy.In this thesis the students who are from the seventh grade of Bangbing Middle School in Shuangjiang Autonomous County,Lincang City,Yunnan Province,are divided into experimental and control classes.And one-year teaching practice was carried out from March 2019 to January 2020.Years of teaching practice suggests that the concepts of "Human Respiration" and "Regulation of the Nervous System" are difficult for students to understand,easy to get confused and make mistakes.In the meantime,the author found that the students learned very early about the lessons,the little relevant knowledge was reserved and the biological concepts involved were vague.Therefore,the study of the experimental class was undertaken with the interview method and questionnaire survey method to analyse the entry competencies including students' interest in biology,the main biological knowledge and skills they have mastered and their attitudes in biology.It was found that nearly half of the students weren't interested in biological learning and had little knowledge of "Human Respiration " and "Regulation of the Nervous System".In each class they do not like teachers to give the lecture all the time and they are more willing to participate in experiments.Based on the learning starting points above,experimental research methods have been adopted in the teaching of biology in the experimental class students.Learning strategies such as setting up learning interest groups,fully conducting experimental lessons,tutorials,game teaching,and experience drawing have been conducted.Four teaching cases have been conducted.The control class was taught normally according to the conventional teaching method.The research results show that the experimental class students' interest in biology has improved significantly,and their learning attitudes have changed positively.In the chapter test and the final test,compared with the control class,the students in the experimental class have improved significantly.Therefore,based on the starting point analysis that the activities of learning interest groups,experimental courses,learning guidance plans,appropriate game teaching and experiential drawing have a positive effect in stimulating students' interest in learning,cultivating students' ability of practice and thinking,and memorizing relevant knowledge structure charts.
