In recent years,China has attached great importance to national security education and must incorporate national security education into the national education system.Senior high school geography teaching contains a wealth of national security education content and has the unique advantage of carrying out national security education.Carrying out national security education in senior high school geography teaching is conducive to cultivating students' core literacy in geography,guiding students to establish a sense of home and country,and fulfilling the fundamental task of educating and cultivating people.However,the current national security education in high school geography teaching still faces many difficulties.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to dig out the content of national security education in high school geography teaching,explore the current implementation status of national security education,and put forward the principles and teaching strategies of national security education in high school geography teaching.This article first uses the literature research method to analyze the relationship between senior high school geography teaching and national security education,and sorts out the content of national security education contained in senior high school geography teaching.Secondly,using the questionnaire survey method to investigate and analyze the status quo of national security education in senior high school geography teaching,summarize the typical problems existing in national security education in senior high school geography teaching and conduct attribution analysis.Finally,based on the results of the questionnaire survey and related theories of geography teaching,the basic principles and strategies that should be followed in carrying out national security education in high school geography teaching are put forward.The conclusions of this study are as follows:1.The results of the questionnaire survey show that most teachers and students can recognize the importance of national security education,and accept that geography can increase national security knowledge,cultivate national security awareness,and improve the ability to maintain national security.However,the current national security education in high school geography teaching faces many problems.First,the theoretical foundation of national security education for teachers and students is weak,the second is that national security education has a serious tendency to "shallow teaching",and the third is the degree of integration of national security education and geography teaching.The fourth is that the teaching evaluation method of national security education is unreasonable.2.Based on the existing problems of national security education in high school geography teaching at this stage,this research proposes that national security education should follow the discipline-based principle,the principle of moderation,and the principle of combining the times with tradition.It is proposed that in high school geography teaching,five strategies should be adopted to develop national security education by scientifically formulating teaching goals,digging into teaching content,flexibly selecting teaching methods,fully developing teaching resources,and improving teaching evaluation methods.3.In order to apply the teaching strategy to the actual teaching of geography,this research designed the teaching design for the section "Cultivated Land Resources and Food Security in China" in the optional compulsory 3 of senior high school geography of the People's Education Edition,and explained the design intent.It is expected to provide a reference for national security education on other topics in high school geography teaching.
