Project-based learning is a student-centered learning model that emphasizes independent thinking and cooperative learning in authentic problem situations.Critical thinking,as a kind of high-order thinking ability,is a new requirement of society for personnel training.The author thinks that the study of mathematics itself requires students to be good at thinking and questioning,and the characteristics of mathematics are very consistent with the cultivation of critical thinking.This paper attempts to combine the learning model of project-based learning with the cultivation of mathematical critical thinking,hoping to make a new development for the research of mathematical project-based learning.Therefore,project-based learning of mathematics based on critical thinking has become the research direction of this paper.This paper is divided into five parts:In the first part,the author puts forward the research problems through putting forward the current core literacy and the present situation of educational reform: the practical research of mathematics project-based learning based on critical thinking.The significance and purpose of the question are expounded in detail.Then,from the topic of project-based learning,the literature research is summarized.For the summary of the research on project-based learning,this paper first introduces the research status of project-based learning abroad,which mainly includes three aspects: project-based learning in students' ability training,practical application and feasibility study of project-based learning in practical application.In the domestic research review,it mainly includes three aspects: project-based learning mode,project-based learning application and project-based learning environment,and a detailed literature review is made on the project-based learning research in the field of mathematics teaching in primary and secondary schools.In the process of problem research,literature research,questionnaire survey and case study are used.The innovation of the research lies in the integration of critical thinking and project-based learning.The research idea is to analyze the current high school students' acceptance of project-based learning and their awareness of critical thinking by means of questionnaire survey and case analysis,and finally draw corresponding conclusions and suggestions.The second part mainly expounds the theoretical basis of this paper.Firstly,the related concepts are defined.The author defines two concepts: project-based learning and mathematical critical thinking.Next is the theoretical basis of this paper,including four theoretical foundations,namely,constructivist learning theory,Dewey's pragmatic education theory,Gardner's multiple intelligences theory and Bruner's discovery learning theory.And the main viewpoints of the theoretical basis are expounded.The third part,according to the questionnaire survey of senior high school students' views and opinions on mathematics learning and project-based learning,through analyzing the survey results,it is found that students are struggling in mathematics learning;Students' acceptance of project-based learning is generally high;Most students can accept the learning form of group cooperation,but some students also report that independent thinking has a higher sense of accomplishment.At the same time,a simple survey of students' critical thinking consciousness shows that most students can feel that teachers are consciously guiding students to think,but they have not formed the consciousness of independent thinking.The fourth part,design project-based learning suitable for students,and give the general process of project-based learning.The general process of project-based learning includes: select the project theme—start with the end—design-driven issues—plan project evaluation—implement project teaching.By considering students' basic mathematics level,students' classroom activity and current teaching progress,this paper designs mathematics project-based learning about human biological cycle,and gives the corresponding teaching design.Finally,through reflection,the corresponding improvement measures are put forward.Two other cases of project-based learning are simply listed.The fifth part summarizes and reflects on the mathematics project-based learning based on critical thinking.Combined with the results of questionnaire survey and the actual situation of project-based learning,it puts forward some suggestions on developing mathematics project-based learning and cultivating critical thinking.Finally,the limitations of this study are explained,and the related prospects are put forward.
