In recent years,robots have set off a wave of upsurge in the field of education and gradually entered the classroom of middle and primary schools.However,traditional and single teaching methods in information technology courses are still used in robotics instruction at present.Although these methods ensure the acquisition of basic knowledge and skills of robots to some extent,they are not conductive to the development of students' innovative ideas,disruptive thinking and higher order learning skills.Students tend to imitate when completing robot project,do not understand iteration,and are afraid of failure.They lack the ability to design,discover and solve problems independently,which affects the development of problem-solving ability.One of the main goals of education is to cultivate students' problem-solving ability.Inquiry-based learning is a process in which learners actively construct new knowledge based on previous knowledge and experience.From its essence,the process of inquiry-based learning conducted by students is the process of solving problems.The whole process of inquiry begins with problems and ends with the solution of problems.Based on this,this research introduces inquiry-based learning into the field of robot education,an inquiry-based learning model was constructed to cultivate students' problem-solving based on the problem-solving process in robot education,so as to achieve the goal of cultivating pupils' problem-solving ability.Under the guidance of theoretical foundations such as constructivism,"learning by doing" theory,theory of problem solving,the research adopts research methods such as literature analysis,investigation method,educational experiment method,etc.,and relevant research work is carried out in accordance with the research ideas of "document review and theoretical research-model construction-teaching design-experiment implementation and result analysis".The following will summarize the research content and results.(1)Literature review and theoretical research.Through reading literature,this research analyzed the current research status at home and abroad on inquiry-based learning,problem-solving ability in robot education and the cultivation of students' problem-solving ability by inquiry-based learning,and then put forward research questions.In addition,relevant concepts such as robot education,inquiry-based learning and problem-solving ability are defined,and the theoretical basis of this research is also determined.(2)The construction of inquiry-based learning model.First of all,the fit between robot education and inquiry-based learning is analyzed,and the 5E learning mode that focuses on students' understanding of scientific concepts and knowledge construction in the inquiry-based learning mode and the CDIO mode of engineering field that contains the idea of inquiry learning are analyzed in detail.According to these two models,the key words of inquiry-based learning process in robot education are extracted.At the same time,the process stages of problem solving is sorted out,and the problem solving process model in robot education is designed.Secondly,the principles of constructing mode are put forward,such as subjectivity,openness and situationality.Finally,the characteristic and applicable conditions of the model are analyzed in detail.(3)Robot teaching design.This study is divided into three stages of teaching,namely,"basic knowledge learning","simple case practice" and "strengthening project inquiry".Corresponding teaching objectives and teaching contents are designed for each teaching stage.In addition,the teaching process guided by the inquiry-based learning mode is designed in detail as the implementation basis of the stage of "strengthening project inquiry".(4)The implementation and result analysis of inquiry-based learning experiment for cultivating problem-solving ability.In this study,the fourth and fifth grade students in the robot institution were selected to carry out the teaching experiment for more than two months.Experimental class and control class were set up.The experimental class adopted the inquiry-based learning mode,while the control class adopted the traditional mode to test whether the inquiry-based learning model constructed in this study could cultivate pupils' problem-solving ability.In addition,the problem-solving ability scale,evaluation of learning achievement,operation record sheet were used to collect and analyze the data of students.The results show that the application of inquiry-based learning model in robot education can effectively cultivate students' problem-solving ability.
