Higher order thinking ability in chemistry is a kind of ability based on high-level cognition.It includes analytical application ability,decision-making ability,problem solving ability,independent learning ability,critical thinking ability and creative thinking ability.Under the background that the development of the times puts forward new requirements for talent training,the "new curriculum standard" requires the cultivation of students' core literacy,and the current situation of chemistry teaching needs to be changed,it is particularly important to develop students' chemistry thinking ability.In order to understand the teaching status of higher order thinking ability in chemistry and promote the development of students' higher order thinking ability,this paper proposed teaching principles and strategies,carried out the research and practice of salt hydrolysis teaching examples.This research contains the following parts:First,the theoretical research part.Through literature review,definition of core concepts and theoretical overview,the related concepts,structural elements,training methods and evaluation methods of higher order thinking ability were obtained.Combined with the teaching requirements of salt hydrolysis,the chemical higher order thinking ability of this article was determined as "understand the knowledge of salt hydrolysis,establish an ion balance analysis system in aqueous solution,improve the understanding model,independently design and explore related experiments,analyze and apply related content to solve practical problems,realize self-evaluation and diagnosis,form higher order thinking ability of salt hydrolysis".Second,the practical research part.This study investigated the current situation of chemical higher order thinking ability of students and teaching status of teachers with questionnaire and interview.According to the survey results,the teaching principles were determined to be front-to-back connection,practical knowledge,careful listening,self-derivation,peer explanation and encouragement of innovation.The teaching strategies included review the relevant knowledge and carefully select the teaching situation before class,enrich the teaching activities and play the role of exploratory experiment in the class,self-test in the metacognitive link and review the students' ability after class.Carried out the salt hydrolysis teaching design and practice in the experimental class and the control class to develop students' chemistry higher order thinking ability.Took students'test after class and got the practical results.The results show that most teachers lack the thinking and practice of cultivating chemical higher order thinking ability,students' chemical thinking ability is at a lower middle level as a whole.After practice,the post-test results of the experimental class were higher than those of the control class.The result of the present work implies the teaching design and practice have a certain significance for the development of students' chemistry higher-order thinking ability,especially the study of salt hydrolysis.It conforms to the new curriculum standard for promoting students' core literacy.The application has a certain promoting effect on the development of students' chemistry higher order thinking ability.The teaching principles and strategies are recognized by teachers and students.This study enriches the related theories of higher order thinking ability in chemistry and provides some reference opinions for teachers.
