Keller,an American psychology professor,proposed an ARCS learning motivation design model which consisted of four factors:attention,relevance,confidence and satisfaction.First,the application of ARCS should arouse students' attention,then establish the connection between students and knowledge.The aim is to make students can believe they have the ability to complete their learning tasks,improve their self-confidence and experience the satisfaction of learning tasks,thus stimulating their learning motivation.In today's exam oriented education background,based on the students'chemistry learning motivation is not high,learning methods are not appropriate and other problems,chemistry curriculum standards in Senior Middle School requires "student-centered",cultivate students' interest of chemistry learning and teachers should stimulate and maintain students' learning motivation in teaching.As such,the ARCS motivation design model is used to chemistry teaching practice research of Senior Middle School.On the basis of combing the theoretical knowledge of ARCS's motivation design model,interviews and questionnaires,and test paper tests were used to understand the current teaching situation and learning situation of chemistry in senior Middle schools.And the summaries about learning motivation of senior Middle school students was analyzed through the SPSS23,0.ARCS motivation strategy is designed according to the problem of learning motivation.Based on the ARCS motivation design model,the motivation strategy is applied to the teaching design of Simple Classification and Its Application,Dispersive systems and colloids,and Ion reactions and their occurrence conditions.Subsequently,the experimental class carried out the Senior Middle School chemistry teaching based on the model,while the reference class carried out the traditional chemistry teaching.As we expected,through the questionnaire survey and test on the learning motivation and academic level of the students in the two classes,and using spss23.0 to analyze,it is found that the learning motivation of the students in the experimental class is significantly higher than that in the pre-test,while the learning motivation of the students in the reference class has no obvious change.And the excellent rate of the students in the experimental class is higher than that in the reference class,while the number of the students in the upper and middle class is increasing,so the design of motivation strategy is obtained and feasible to carry out in practice.The research results showed that the application of ARCS motivation design model in senior Middle school chemistry teaching can effectively stimulate students' learning motivation,and to improve meaningful reference opinions for senior high school chemistry teaching.
