At present, due to a variety of reasons, many students lack motivation and motivation in chemistry learning. So,how to stimulate students' motivation of chemistry learning, and can continue to maintain this motivation,is plagued by many front-line teachers. The ARCS model of motivational design proposed by John M.Keller,a famous hhAmerican psychologist,is one of the most influential theories in the study of motivation. The proposed model has attracted wide attention since it was put forward. It consists of four elements:Attention,Relevance,Confidence and Satisfaction. It is named after the initials of each of the four elements. The ARCS model of motivational design can be regarded as such a process:stimulate a person's learning motivation, the first to provoke him to pay attention to the content he will learn, and then help him realize that completing the learning task is closely related to himself. And then let the students feel that they can do it,so have self-confidence.At last, let the students feel the sense of achievement after the completion of the task, and feel good about themselves. In this paper, the ARCS model of motivational design guides the teaching practice. The object is the students in two parallel classes of Senior One.Specifically, first of all, investigate the students' learning motivation about chemistry, know about the problems of the students motivation.Next, design teaching strategy. And then,to carry out the teaching strategy. After that, analyze the results using SPSS data processing system. Finally, get the results of the positive role which the model has play in the students' motivation improvement. So the model is worth promoting.
