In the United States,the study of graded reading began in the 1920s and has a history of more than 100 years.Practice has proved that graded reading is a practical way to improve students' reading ability.Graded reading is of great significance to the physical and mental development of children.It starts from the physical and mental development of children and chooses books that are suitable for their reading ability.It is a practical and feasible guiding reading method and has become a worldwide reading trend.And after years of research,the development of graded reading in the United States is relatively mature and complete.It not only has scientific reading grading standards,but also has a relatively mature reading grading method and related supporting graded books.The concept of graded reading is widely accepted by the American society and even penetrates into the teaching of American elementary and middle schools.Therefore,the study of graded reading for American elementary and middle school students is of reference significance for the study of graded reading and the teaching of reading in primary and secondary schools in my country.This article mainly selects graded reading in American primary and secondary schools as the research object,devotes itself to absorbing the experience and lessons of graded reading research in the United States,provides useful suggestions for graded reading research and reading teaching in China,and provides directions for the cultivation of reading ability and personalized reading in primary and secondary schools in my country.The introduction part mainly introduces the reasons for selecting the topic,defines the relevant core concepts,combs the research status and results of graded reading at home and abroad,and introduces the research methods of this article.There are three chapters in the main text.The first chapter is the origin and development of graded reading in the United States.Driven by the background of the times and realistic demands,graded reading has gained a lot of room for development in the United States.The research on graded reading starts from the grade standard-the study of readability,and the development of graded reading can be seen from the readability.The second chapter mainly analyzes the reading grading methods in the United States.The United States has formed a relatively complete and mature reading grading method.The grading methods are not only diverse but also have their own characteristics.The author selects three representative and widely used classification methods in the United States for analysis.Explain the evaluation methods of each grading method,evaluate the three grading methods,and summarize experience.The third chapter is to explore the application and enlightenment of graded reading integrated into American reading teaching.Graded reading research in the United States is very mature.A large part of the reason lies in the integration of graded reading and reading teaching.In the process of assisted reading teaching,graded reading has also been developed.This part mainly analyzes the application of the concept of graded reading in reading teaching from graded reading teaching content,graded reading teaching mode,and graded reading teaching evaluation.A complete research on graded reading is inseparable from the development of graded readers.Take the "Leveled Readers" graded textbook as an example to analyze its grading mode.Finally,it summarizes the enlightenment of the integration of graded reading into reading teaching and the development of graded reading books.
