With the continuous development of economy and society,people’s demand for high-quality talents to meet social development has increased sharply.Therefore,the concept of core literacy is beginning to gain attention in the field of education.In January 2018,the Ministry of Education issued the “General High School Chemistry Curriculum Standards”,which clarifies the core qualities of the five aspects of chemistry,specifically including “macro identification and micro analysis”,“the ideas of changes and balance”,“evidence reasoning and model cognition”,“scientific inquiry and innovation awareness”,“scientific attitude and social responsibility”.Meanwhile,the C urriculum Standards also clearly proposes that students can experience the process of scientific inquiry through various exploratory activities aimed at chemical experiments,change their learning methods,and stimulate their interest in chemistry learning and the spirit of exploration and innovation.By analyzing the forms of educational reform at home and abroad and starting from the significance o f chemistry exploratory experiments to the core accomplishment of chemistry discipline,this paper discussed the research origin of the thesis,and made necessary explanations of the research purpose and significance,as well as the research status and research methods of core accomplishment and exploratory experimental teaching at home and abroad.Apart from analyzing the current situation,the literature survey also explored the necessity and feasibility of high school chemistry exploratory experiments to promote the cultivation and research of students’ core literacy.Three basic theories,constructivism,learning pyramid theory and science-technology-society-environment(STSE)education theory,were used to define the relevant concepts of core literacy a nd exploratory experiments.Then,through questionnaire surveys and teacher interviews,a survey of the high school students’ core literacy status of high school students and chemistry teachers’ experimental teaching status a survey of the status of experimental teaching of chemistry teachers were carried out.After the analysis of the survey results,some suggestions were given to the current situation of experimental teaching and the cultivation of students’ chemistry core literacy.Combining the experimental content of compulsory high school chemistry 2 of the People’s Education Press,the theoretical concepts,evidence awareness,changing concepts,scientific inquiry and innovation awareness,as well as subject value and spirit contained in the experiments were analyzed,and the principles to be followed in the design of exploratory experimental teaching were put forward,namely,scientific principle,feasibility principle,subject principle and innovation principle.In order to verify the viewpoints of the research in this article,the two parallel classes of the first grade 11 and 12 of the school which the author teaches were used as the research objects to conduct practical research.During the one-semester practical research,the author taught in the experimental class following the exploratory experimental teaching mode,while in the control class following the traditional teaching method.Finally,the results of teaching practice were analyzed through questionnaire surveys,interviews,and performance evaluation comparisons.Results showed that the core chemistry and chemistry scores of the students in the experimental class that implemented the above experimental strategies were improved more obviously than those in the traditional teaching class,which showed that the exploratory experimental teaching of high school chemistry is beneficial to the cultivation of students’ core chemistry literacy.Thus the validity of the research subject was confirmed and relevant suggestions and reflections were summarized.However,due to the differences in students’ basic level and ability level,there were many difficulties in carrying out exploratory experimental teaching,such as how to change the teachers’ and students’ original ideas,how to solve the limitation of school’s experimental conditions,and how to improve the students’ inquiry ability.Moreover,the cultivation of students’ core chemistry literacy is a long-term process,and we need to constantly explore new practical methods and change teaching strategies to achieve the desired results.
