Children’s school readiness is a hot issue in recent years.Good school readiness can help children adapt to primary school life smoothly,and family is the main factor affecting children’s school readiness.Therefore,it is of theoretical and practical significance to study the correlation between family school readiness behavior and children’s school readiness.In this paper,440 children and their parents from 8 public kindergartens of different levels in Tianjin were selected as the research objects.Combined with the methods of questionnaire survey and interview,this paper comprehensively investigated the family school readiness behavior and the current situation of children’s school readiness,and explored the relationship between them.The conclusions are as follows:1.The overall situation of family preparation for school is good,and the degree of family helping children to prepare for school is higher than that of family itself.2.The differences of family socioeconomic status have significant differences in helping children to prepare for school,health and language;however,the differences of children’s gender,kindergarten level and family structure are not significant in all dimensions and overall level of school readiness behavior.3.The overall condition of children’s school readiness is good,and the order of scores in each field from high to low is cognitive field,social field,speech field,learning style field and health field.4.There are significant differences in school readiness among different genders.Girls are better than boys;The results show that there are significant differences in the dimensions of cognitive field and language field for children with different family socio-economic status;there are no significant differences in all dimensions and overall situation of school readiness of children with different kindergarten levels and family structure.5.There is a positive correlation between the family school readiness behavior and the children’s school readiness.The more the family school readiness is,the better the children’s school readiness is.Among them,family preparation behavior,family help children to prepare for school and family self preparation will have a significant positive impact on the overall situation of children’s school readiness.Based on the above findings,this study puts forward relevant suggestions from three aspects of family,kindergarten and education departments in order to improve family school readiness behavior and children’s school readiness.
