The high jump is made up of four technical movements,including running,jumping,crossing the bar and landing.The teaching process of the high jump requires students to master the ability to cross the basic obstacles.In the process of teaching secondary school students physical education,the most direct influence on the final height of the high jump is the technique of crossing the bar,and the main difficulty is the coordination of the athlete's movements when crossing the bar,i.e.the degree of control of the athlete's own jumping and swinging legs.This paper adopts the scientific research methods of literature,interview,questionnaire,mathematical statistics,logical analysis and experimental method,and uses 71 students from Year 8Class 2 and Class 3 of Huangshi No.17 Middle School as the experimental subjects.The experiment was conducted on the 17 th Huangshi City High Jumping School.The experimental class adopted the variability exercise,while the control group was taught the high jump technique according to the traditional teaching method.The final data were compared by the post-experimental technical assessment and high jump performance.The results of the experiment were.The results of the experiment were.1.The experimental comparison between the experimental class(variation exercises)and the control class(common teaching)shows that the application of variation exercises based on practice variability in the retention and migration stages of learning the leap high jump over the bar technique is feasible and can enable students to improve their interest in learning the leap high jump technique,master the learning and control of the movements and improve their performance in the leap high jump.2.When practising variability theory applied to the leap high jump over the bar technique,attention should be paid to combining its movement characteristics and situational characteristics,clarifying the key points of each link of the movement,and giving full consideration to the structure and variability of the movement when designing the means.3.In the experimental process,when practising the jumping leg retractions using the elastic band,attention should be paid to correcting the students' body weight during the exercises to prevent the deformation of the movements.4.In the design of the variation exercises in the experiment,the boys had more variation in the swing leg high lift and internal rotation downward press,and less variation in the jumping leg and swing leg shear on the bar.In contrast,for the girls,the bar scissors are relatively standard.5.Based on the theory of exercise variability,the variation exercises can be designed with the characteristics of simple operation,high effectiveness,various forms and lively and interesting,which are suitable for teaching secondary school students to leapfrog.
