With the guidance of curriculum revolution,teachers' educational ideas,teaching ability and teaching methods have been comprehensively improved.According to the curriculum standards for Mathematics,that teachers are advocated that they “should use the materials creatively" on the basis of teachers' comprehensive,in-depth and understanding of teaching materials.Understanding teaching materials is the first step for teachers to teach in classroom,emphasizing on understanding and interpreting the rich connotation of teaching materials for Mathematics and effectively improving the quality of classroom teaching,as well as teachers' teaching ability.Based on the serious phenomenon of teachers to change or delete the contents of teaching materials by feeling and even abandon teaching materials,it is of great significance to understand the development of teachers' understanding on junior high school mathematics to teaching materials,thus promoting teachers' professional development and improving the efficiency of classroom teaching.Taking the teacher's understanding about textbook as the research topic,this study analyzed the current situation of understanding the teaching materials for teachers to teach junior middle school mathematics to the field of "Graphics and Geometry"in textbooks of Beijing Normal University.In order to learn the development of junior high school mathematics teachers' understanding about textbooks,we summarized the theoretical framework of textbook understanding with literature.The main problems include:(1)teachers' understanding of teaching materials;(2)teachers' understanding of the whole textbook;(3)teachers' understanding of the characteristics of textbook compilation;(4)teachers' understanding of class materials.A questionnaire survey was conducted on 930 first-line mathematics teachers in six cities of Liaoning Province,and we found that currently,junior high school mathematics teachers had a good attitude to the textbooks,good basic concepts of the textbooks,vague understanding of the curriculum standards,insufficient understanding of the characteristics of the compilation of junior high school mathematics textbooks,lack of comprehensiveness of the textbooks,and the time used in the analysis of the textbooks and the main ways to understand the textbooks can affect the overall understanding of the textbooks;Teachers' understanding of teaching materials may vary greatly in teaching age,teaching experience and teachers' education.According to the investigation and summary,some effective suggestions were put forward to improve teachers' understanding to teaching materials:(1)to establish curriculum awareness,to study mathematics curriculum standards carefully;(2)to enhance teachers' awareness of conscious research in the understanding of teaching materials;(3)so as to strengthen the support of schools and teacher training institutions.
