With the continuous reform and advancement of mathematics curriculum, the compilation of mathematics textbooks in various countries and regions also changes accordingly.Mathematics textbooks can highlight the idea of mathematics curriculum to a certain extent, and the comparative study among textbooks has also become a hot research topic in today's mathematics education.Geometry,as a major part of mathematics curriculum, has always been a difficult point in students' learning.During a visit to a middle school in Taiwan, they were just learning geometry. The author found that there are great differences in the arrangement and presentation of geometry contents between the Mainland and Taiwan textbooks. Therefore, the author conducted a comparative study on the content of“Graphics and Geometry”of junior high school mathematics textbooks, and analyzed and explored the reasons for the differences. In this paper,we select a set of representative junior middle school mathematics textbooks in Mainland and Taiwan: Mainland is the junior middle school mathematics textbook of People's Education Press,Taiwan is the Nan Yi Press of junior middle school mathematics textbook.Based on the comparative analysis of two documents of Mainland Standard(2011 Version)and Taiwan Outline,we compare the Graphics and Geometry" contents of the two sets of textbooks.First of all, this paper analyzes the similarities and differences between the curriculum standards of mathematics on both sides of the Taiwan straits from the aspects of the basic concept of curriculum, curriculum objectives, textbook compilation suggestions,"Graphics and Geometry" content and several other aspects.Based on this, this paper makes a macro-and Micro-comparative analysis of the contents of "Graphics and Geometry" in mathematics textbooks for junior middle schools of the two sets of textbooks.Macroscopic aspects include the comparison of curriculum content quantity, content arrangement, unit knowledge plate setting, content presentation mode, knowledge point relevance Infiltration of mathematical culture, and so on.In the micro aspect,we mainly choose the typical knowledge points-all-equal triangle and Pythagorean theorem, and make a comparison from the presentation of knowledge points, the difficulty degree of exemplar exercises, the integration of mathematical history, the closeness to life, the practicality and so on.Then, the analysis shows the similarities and differences between the two versions of the textbooks: 1.The teaching material of the PEP is presented in a spiral rise, and the Nan Yi Edition is presented in a straight line.2.The PEP Press focuses on the student's self-knowledge building, and the Nan Yi Press focuses on the systematic and completeness of knowledge.3.The Nan Yi Press pays attention to the process of knowledge formation and the cultivation of hands-on ability.4.The Nan Yi Press is more readable.5.The teaching material of the PEP is more reasonable in the integration of mathematics culture.6.The exercises of PEP Press are more comprehensive, higher level of reasoning and more connections in real life. The Nan Yi Press pays more attention to the training of basic knowledge and skills and more inclined to practice mathematics without background. Finally, the author combines the analysis of the reasons for the formation of cross-strait textbook differences, and puts forward suggestions for the preparation of junior high school mathematics textbooks in China and further questions worthy of discussion.
