Path Study Of Social Work Intervention In Rural Tourism Poverty Alleviation Based On Asset-Based Perspective

There is a huge overlap between Chinese rural areas and areas rich in tour resources,therefore,the rural communities' development in those areas could be promoted through the tourism industry.With the implementation of targeted poverty alleviation and Rural Revitalization Strategy in China,the development of rural tourism has become an important industrial path to solve the problems of rural communities' declining,village ‘hollowing' and ‘Three Left-behinds',improve the living standard of residents,and realize the development of rural communities.Tourism development depends not only on the support of government and society but also the broad participation of rural communities.The asset-based community development model emphasizes mining the internal assets of the community and encouraging the residents to get involved in promoting a sustainable community development.To date,only limited research summaries and practical experience have been identified based on such theory.S District of Chongqing is located in Wuling Mountain where contiguous destitute areas are concentrated,and it is an important demonstration region of rural tourism poverty alleviation in Chongqing because of the ‘tourism + poverty alleviation strategies.S District created a ‘rural revitalization + tourism + poverty alleviation' development mode,which promoted the development of rural community actively,on the basis of continuously consolidating the achievements of poverty alleviation.Social work,as an important character in developing tourism and promoting revitalization in rural areas,has played a critical role in building rural communities.How to get social work professionals to participate in rural tourism poverty alleviation has become an important issue under the background of rural revitalization.This study takes the opportunity of participating in a social science fund project about ‘Study on the Coupling Mechanism of Tourism Targeted Poverty Alleviation and Local Cultural Inheritance in Southwest China' and is based on field research of rural tourism poverty alleviation in the S District of Chongqing.In the process of investigation,the author visited the local representative rural communities on the spot by linking to the local L social work agency,and collected data by using the methods of interview,participatory observation and questionnaire survey to analyze the poverty alleviation practice and development dilemma of rural tourism in District S.This study is guided by the asset-based community development model to explore the working mechanism of asset-based mode based on sorting out the relevant literature.The author aims to construct the path of social work intervention in rural tourism poverty alleviation under the asset-based community development model with focusing on the relationship between community assets and rural tourism and combining rural social work practice by drawing lessons from other scholars on the application of asset-based community development model in rural community work and reviewing and integrating the community assets of the S District.
