With the progress and development of the society, innovation has already become an important basis for the development of The Times.Whether a country can develop rapidly depends to a large extent on the innovation ability of talents, and more and more attention is paid to the cultivation of innovation consciousness and innovation ability in personnel training.Open-ended problem is a good way to evaluate students' creative thinking.Although open-ended problem has begun to appear in various elementary school mathematics textbooks, practice questions and mathematics examinations in China, the number is very small and scattered, the teaching of open-ended problems has not been well developed.Compared with the requirement of strengthening quality education and cultivating students' innovative ability, there is still a big gap. This research mainly uses open-ended problem as the starting point to understand the overall situation of sixth grade students in solving open problems. The current situation of the fluency, flexibility, and originality of sixth graders in solving open problems, and whether there is a significant correlation between fluency, flexibility, and originality when solving open problems in sixth graders. In response to the above three questions, this study selected 250 students from 6 classes in Tianjin T Primary School and 101 students from 2 classes in Wuhan W Primary School.Mainly use the literature method to explain the relevant knowledge and theories of problem solving,open-ended problems and creative thinking, use the test method to investigate the current situation of students in solving open-ended problems, and use case analysis to specifically introduce the scoring method.Research results show that students are more fluent in solving open problems. The difference between the student's flexibility score and the overall mean in solving open-ended problems is the smallest.Students are poor in originality in solving open problems.Few students can get novel answers, and they have not demonstrated unique problem-solving methods. When students solve open-ended problems, there is a significant correlation between fluency, flexibility, and originality.
