In the new century there have a curriculum reform of the basic education in our country with the purpose of reflecting the characteristic of the period and China through the new curriculum system. It will make great effort to give children an open democratic and scientific curriculum. Contemporary mathematic education in middle school is characteized by the focusing only on the instruction of knowledge and ignoring to foster the students'competence to acquire the knowledge independently the teaching content is complex difficult less relevant and outdated. So many students who are poor in math in our school the foundation of students are not so good; some students are not interested in math and they find it difficult to learn math.The Open-ended teaching should abide by the principle that the teaching of the students according to what he is good at and embodies the student's main body position. The research shows that open- ended problem teaching had a good teaching result.The essay started with the survey of middle school math teaching. On the basis of analyzing domestic and international research on open problems of mathematics, and analyses its characteristics and types according to the examples of math teaching. I have been trying to attempt open-ended teaching which is the following five points in my daily teaching work on the base of precious study of historical teachers: presentation open,content open,process open,teachers?students open,exercises open and so on.
