As one of the six basic elementary functions,logarithm function is an important learning content in high school.The logarithmic function is related to other basic elementary functions for comprehensive examination,which requires high flexibility of students' learning.It is also one of the required contents of college entrance examination,and occupies an important position in the curriculum system of mathematics in high school.Learning logarithmic function can expand the learning of exponential function.It also lays a foundation for the subsequent learning of power function and trigonometric function.It plays a connecting role in the process of function learning and an important role in developing students' key competence in mathematics.When working in the front line,the author found that logarithmic function had difficulties in both teaching and learning.Therefore,the author analyzed causes and countermeasures for difficulties of high school students in learning logarithmic function.Literature research method and investigation method were used to study.Literature research method was used to clarify the research ideas and methods.333 students from a rural-urban integrated high school in County C were selected as research subjects.There were three levels of students in this school: live-broadcast class,Hongzhi class and regular class.The collecting sample was representative to some extent.Through questionnaire survey and interview,it was found that students' difficulties in learning logarithm function were mainly in understanding the concept,logarithm operation,image understanding and applying the property and model.After analyzing the test paper,it was found that the students' score of “logarithmic function”is low,and the four difficulties were all reflected in the test paper,among which the most significant difficulty was the difficulty of nature and model application.Through the analysis of questionnaire,test paper and interview records,it is found that the content of logarithm function itself,students,teachers and other factors are the main reasons that lead to the difficulty of learning logarithm function.Based on the content dimension analysis of the logarithmic function,it is found that the causes of learning difficulties are as follows: 1)The complex structure of the analytic formula,the lack of deep understanding spirit of the students' concept,the weak foundation of students and the lack of understanding of the teachers' learning situation lead to the difficulty in understanding the concept;2)The students have difficulty in logarithm operation because of unclear calculation,weak symbol consciousness,lack of understanding of operation properties and neglect of operation;3)The logarithmic function image is abstract,students do not understand the nature of the image,the teacher's teaching method and students' ability to understand the image do not match,resulting in difficulties in understanding the image;4)The weak awareness of mathematical application,the lack of mathematical reading habits,the low level of mathematical thinking leads to difficulties in the application of properties and models.In view of the above causes of learning difficulties,the following countermeasures are put forward: 1)Pay attention to the generation of knowledge and overcome the difficulties in understanding concepts;2)Formula derivation to overcome operational difficulties;3)Cultivate visual imagination literacy to overcome difficulties in image understanding;4)Encourage students to apply what they have learned to overcome the difficulties of model application.
