Analysis On The Self-governance Mechanism Of The Courtyard Renovation From The Perspective Of Actor-network Theory

With the parallel development of society and economy in China,the city is facing major changes and reconstruction of material space and humanistic space.In order to promote the overall optimization of city,Chengdu government proposes to carry out the autonomous renovation of 1500 old courtyards in the central urban area,hoping to take it as an opportunity to motivate residents to actively participate in community affairs and explore a new mode of autonomous mechanism.Therefore,it is of great significance to break the practical dilemma of community autonomy and promote the transformation of modern cities to explore the operation process of autonomy mechanism from the perspective of the interaction between the actors in courtyard renovation.Actor-Network Theory(ANT)weakens the concept of human and non-human,and integrates all kinds of natural and social existence in practice into an action network.In methodology,it focuses on the interaction between actors,which provides a good explanation framework for the research on the behavior process of participants in the autonomous courtyard renovation.Therefore,this paper takes the practice of autonomous courtyard renovation in Chengdu as the research object and ANT as the research perspective,trying to explain the action logic of participants and the evolution mechanism of the interaction network.So as to present the real interact state in the practice of autonomous courtyard renovation,and provide valuable experience for the exploration of community autonomy mechanism in China.It is found that from the perspective of ANT,the practice of autonomous courtyard renovation can be regarded as an interactive process in which all kinds of actors participate.First of all,the operation basis of it lies in the participation of all kinds of heterogeneous action subjects,and the driving force is to meet the interest objectives of them in the practice activities.Due to the mobility of actor network elements,the operation of courtyard autonomous network also presents dynamic characteristics.Secondly,It also exists some potential worries: a.the uncertainty of the autonomous factors leading to the instability of the interaction network;b.the lack of autonomous ability of the core actors leading to the risk of insufficient motivation for the optimization of the autonomy mechanism;c.the diversity of the individual needs of the participants in the courtyard space leading to the difficulty of unified action objectives.Therefore,this paper also puts forward some suggestions on the exploration of the autonomy mechanism.First,we need pay attention to the change of the interest demand to stabilize the interactive network;second,we should strengthen the autonomy ability of residents to improve the mechanism's function;third,we also need to enrich the potential value of "things"(including environment,system,infrastructure,etc.)in the community autonomy,so as to look forward to promoting the good development of community autonomy in China.
