From the founding of New China to the end of the 20 th century,China has carried out seven large-scale curriculum reforms and made great achievements,but the overall level is still not optimistic,the original basic education curriculum has fallen behind the pace of the development of The Times.In order to establish and improve the basic education curriculum system to meet the requirements of quality-oriented education,the eighth curriculum reform in China was officially launched in June 1999.With the further deepening of the eighth new curriculum reform,teachers are also facing more severe challenges,especially to improve the professional quality of teachers to adapt to the requirements of The Times is undoubtedly the top priority.As history teachers of junior middle schools in towns and townships,they should conform to the trend of The Times,re-examine themselves,and constantly improve their professional quality,so as to better adapt to the requirements of the new history curriculum reform and give full play to the educational function of history.Based on the survey of history teachers in the township junior middle schools in Ziyang County,Shaanxi Province,this paper finds that there is still a certain gap between the professional quality of history teachers in the township junior middle schools and the requirements of the new curriculum reform.There are many factors that affect the improvement of teachers' professional quality in a region.By consulting the literature and analyzing the survey results,the paper finds that the main reasons for the improvement of the professional quality of history teachers in junior middle schools in towns and townships are the lack of government policy and financial support,the marginalization of history discipline,the low professional happiness of teachers,the lack of practical effect of teacher training and the weak awareness of teachers' independent growth.In this context,the article put forward some countermeasures,I believe that under the combined effect of these measures can effectively improve the professional quality of history teachers in junior middle schools in towns.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction,which introduces the reason why this research topic is selected,summarizes the research status of this topic through consulting relevant literature,and finally puts forward the innovation and shortcomings of this topic.The second part is the introduction of related concepts.The first is the connotation of teachers' professional quality,the second is the connotation of history teachers' professional quality,and the last is to introduce the requirements of junior high school history teachers' professional quality under the background of the new curriculum reform.The third part is to investigate and analyze the causes of the problems existing in the professional accomplishment of history teachers in junior middle schools in towns by means of questionnaires and interviews.The fourth part is based on the survey results and relevant literature,put forward countermeasures to improve the professional quality of history teachers in junior middle schools in towns and townships.The investigation and research on the professional quality of history teachers in junior middle schools in towns and townships have made us have a deeper understanding of education in rural areas.I hope the countermeasures proposed by the author can play a certain positive role in improving the professional quality of history teachers in junior middle schools in towns and townships.
