The research is based on less developed rural areas,whose research subjects include 367 junior high school teachers and 162 junior high school students.The research methods include questionnaire,interview,and observation.“Professional development standards for secondary school teachers”(trail implementation)provides teacher‘s professional development with the survey indicators from four aspects.In order to ensure the objectivity of the question,this study adds students' questionnaires,learning more about teachers' professional development from teachers and students respectively.The study found that the professional development of junior high school teachers is totally higher than the average,however,teachers ‘ professional cognition and professional abilities are lower than the average.Therefore,the problems existing in the professional development will be concluded by the following six aspects.First,teachers have weaknesses in professional knowledge;second,there is still potential in enhancing professional abilities;third,teachers lack of professional cognition;fourth,teachers are under heavy workload;fifth,teachers have little awareness of voluntary development;sixth,teachers has a deviated cognitions of there professions.The author analyzed the reason for the problems from policy,social circumstance,school and the teacher himself or herself.And proposed the strategies in government policies,social environment,school management and the teachers themselves,which aims to eliminate the obstacles in teachers' professional development and promote the development in less developed areas effectively.
