The image of a scientist in the mind of students is of great significance for their future career in science.Studies have shown that students' cognition of the image of a scientist has an important impact on their science learning,which reflects their interest in science learning and identification of their science career to a certain extent.Students' negative and stereotypical image of scientists and their inadequate understanding of scientists and scientific careers may hinder their willingness to pursue careers related to science in the future.Existing studies mostly use the method of drawing a scientist,that is,the DAST experiment to investigate the image of the student's scientist.This method is limited by the student's drawing level,and it is difficult to truly express the student's thoughts and can only be shown through pictures.The external image of a scientist is difficult to analyze the internal part of the image of the scientist in the minds of students;and in daily teaching,how teachers improve the image of a student as a scientist through teaching and enhance students' interest in science is also rare in existing research.Mentioned.Therefore,the thesis firstly constructs an analysis framework for the image of scientists,and then uses this framework to combine the idea of vocabulary and Likert scale to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis on the image of students as scientists.Develop relevant teaching courses and implement them to test their effects,and finally put forward suggestions for improving the image of scientists in the minds of students in middle school teaching.The full text is divided into six chapters.The second to the fourth chapters are the main part of the study:The first chapter,introduction.The background,purpose and significance of the research and the overall design of the research are mainly described.This thesis defines the core concept and discusses the research on the image of scientists at home and abroad.The research on the image of scientists mainly focuses on four parts: the image of scientists in the eyes of specific groups,the image of scientists in mass media,the relationship between the image of scientists and the scientific profession,and the stereotype of scientists and the intervention meansChapter two,the analysis frame of constructing the image of scientists.In this chapter,the previous research is summarized,and based on the theory of psychology and communication,the three-level analysis framework of the image of scientists is constructed.That is to say,the image of scientists first includes two dimensions: internal image and external image,and internal image includes three dimensions: personality characteristics,professional characteristics and life characteristics.External image includes appearance characteristics and working environmentThe third chapter investigates students' images of scientists by using word association method.To improve the analysis framework of scientists' images,the collected words are used to form adjective pairs,and students are asked to score them to measure students' attitude towards scientists' internal images.The results showed that the strength of the students' association with the scientist's personality was the strongest,while the strength of the association with the external image was the weakest.As the growth of the grade,the students' association with scientists' innate ability,negative personality and appearance is weakening,to the scientists themselves made efforts to pay more attention to,such as "smart" "intelligence","rigid","the elderly" in the lower,more students think that scientists "interesting" "hard","stick to","love science".The number of people wanting to be scientists drops as the grades get older,and among those who don't want to be scientists,more than 40 percent think scientists are "bald" and "slovenly." The results of students' evaluation of scientists' inner image showed that the students' evaluation of scientists' inner image decreased significantly with the increase of grades.The fourth chapter,in the previous chapter of the study obtained the characteristics of middle school students' image of scientists.Based on its existing characteristics,corresponding teaching experiments are designed to improve students' image of scientists,restore the "humanized" image of scientists,and weaken students' stereotype of scientists.The results showed that,firstly,the students' perception of the scientists' personality,appearance and working environment changed through the experiment.On the personality scale,more students rated scientists as "friendly," "funny," and "patriotic." And in a change from previous studies,more students referred to scientists as "ordinary people." Secondly,in terms of internal image measurement,there was no significant difference in students' ratings of scientists' personality dimension before and after the experiment.However,in terms of personality dimension,students' ratings of emotional characteristics of scientists' personality dimension increased significantly after the experiment.Finally,there was no significant change in students' willingness to work in science before and after the experimentThe fifth chapter,on the basis of the fourth chapter intervention experiment concluded that the students' image of scientists can be extended by classroom teaching,in turn from the formal environment on the basis of teaching and the teaching two aspects of the informal environment,in the process of middle school teaching improve the students' image of scientists,improve its stereotypes of scientists put forward the corresponding teaching strategies.The sixth chapter,based on the above research and conclusion,summarizes the importance of student image of scientists on the influence of scientific attitude and future career choice.And students have a complete image of the scientist for their own development of great significance.Finally,the problems in the research are reflected,and the shortcomings of the research and the direction of future research are pointed out.
